Echo Chamber is the long-awaited follow-up of The Strange’s first album Nights of Forgotten Films (2004). A collaboration by Croatian surf-rockers The Bambi Molesters and US singer-songwriter Chris Eckman of The Walkabouts. For those who don't know: The Bambi Molesters widely broadened the boundaries of surf-rock; becoming one of the best instrumental rock bands which released one of their best albums entitled “As The Dark Wave Swells” with Glitterhouse Records in 2010. This time Italian producer Don Antonio of Sacri Cuori, known for his work with Alejandro Escovedo and Dan Stuart (Green on Red) joins Phill Brown (The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Roxy Music, Talk Talk ) at the mixing console.

The Strange is a match made in heaven; made possible by the proximity between Zagreb (home of The Bambi Molesters) and Ljubljana, where Chris Eckman moved from his hometown Seattle. A deep chemistry plus the Molesters' instrumental imagination and the beauty of Eckman's poetry and voice brought them together to make an album such as "Echo Chamber". From the very beginning it was clear that this band is more than just the sum of one surf-rock band and one Americana poet.

The new album is even more diverse and deeper than Nights of Forgotten Films. For example, the song Killing Time sounds like a lost country-soul song rom the late 60's, Dime A Dozen like funk-rock from the early 70's and Broken Down Blues like a blues in the style of the final songs by Leonard Cohen. Beautiful twang guitars, an elegant horn section, tasty keyboards and delighted strings are suggesting that "Echo Chamber" could be today's echo of yesterday's baroque-pop legends such as Lee Hazlewood, Scott Walker, Van Dyke Parks or Burt Bacharach.
